Jeni grew up in a small California mountain town called Topanga Canyon, just minutes from the beach near Malibu. You could find her at the barn riding her horse, at the beach, and building go-karts from scrap wood. Jeni was a true tomboy at heart.
At age 17, Jeni and her mom packed up the Volvo station wagon and moved her to a remote cabin on 10 acres in Conifer, Colorado. While there, Jeni backpacked for two weeks in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains with Outward Bound as the only girl out of ten men. She gained her instate residency for the University of Colorado, and moved to Boulder. She joined the Equestrian Team, worked several equestrian training positions, and received her Bachelors of Studio Arts.
After college, Jeni held various positions in retail management and sales, inching her way towards her goal of Visual Merchandising for Theory in Malibu, California. However, her heart always led her back to the equestrian world.
Jeni followed her passion for the equestrian industry and worked alongside Grand Prix and Olympic Dressage and Hunter/Jumper trainers in Los Angeles, until she landed a job in Del Mar, California. Jeni had been living in San Diego for about a year when she met Ryan. They were engaged months later in New York while on vacation.
Changing gears, Jeni took the position as Operations Manager at Salon Spruce, and is very excited to be in an industry that generates happiness. She is elated about being part of the Spruce culture. She is also the Marketing and Branding Manager for Masters of Balayage.
