taylor EVENT COORDINATOR
Taylor grew up in Davis, a small town in Northern California, where she started working as a salon receptionist at age 15. Not long after taking this job did she realize her passion for the hair industry, and was confident in pursuing a career within it.
Looking back, she remembers her salon manager telling her that she loved her job and garnered so much satisfaction from the creative process involved — that she never felt like she was working. That conversation has stuck with Taylor to this day, and from that day forward she was set on becoming a hairstylist.
Following Taylor’s high school graduation, she spent a year at Humboldt State University, moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2014 and began beauty school at Aveda Institute in Denver. During her time at Aveda, she was drawn primarily to all lessons involving color. She loved that although you could learn a specific technique, there are so many tips and tricks that can be applied in executing your goal making each color service completely unique and its own. Almost immediately after graduating from the cosmetology program in 2016, Taylor moved back to California and began work at a salon in San Diego, assisting and garnering skills in the managerial side of salon operations. She works at the Manager for Salon Spruce in La Jolla, CA and is also Masters of Balayage's Education Event Coordinator.
In the course of the last eight years, Taylor has developed a variety of skills crucial to salon operations that extend beyond the stylist chair. The main aspect of the industry that Taylor loves is the people she meets along the way. She values the time and interactions she has with all of the guests, and love having the ability to play both roles behind the scenes as well as behind the chair.
